About Oxnard
Useful links and more information about the City of Oxnard.
Oxnard is a Pacific Coast line city between Santa Barabara and Los Angeles Counties.
The community of Oxnard is conveniently located on a major arterial street with easy
access to schools, retail shops and many recreational facilities including the harbor and
beaches. There is easy access to the 101 freeway from all directions. Downtown Oxnard
is less than two miles from the 101 Freeway. For more serious travelers, the City
airport is only a five minute drive.
The City of Oxnard, also regarded as the most business-friendly community in Ventura
County, has experienced rapid growth in recent years. This is due to the expansion of
the only deep-water harbor between Los Angeles and San Francisco and it's near mid-
way location between Los Angeles and Santa Barbara. Although agriculture remains a
major industry, contemporary Oxnard enjoys an expanding economy based on a healthy
combination of retail / commercial development, manufacturing development, tourism,
as well as the Naval Station at Port Hueneme.
Ivywood Village is located in the City of Oxnard, the largest city in the tri-counties
region with a population of nearly 200,000. The complex has exposure to Ventura Road
which is the longest continuing thoroughfare running North to South through the heart
of Oxnard.
